Get To Know Dr. Pott
Dr. Ashley S. Pott immigrated to Ottawa in early 2025 and joined the Gloucester Veterinary Hospital team as Medical Director in the summer of 2026. Her medical passions include comprehensive, tailored companion animal care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and ultrasonography. She has had the privilege of training other veterinarians in brachycephalic airway surgeries and surgical dentistry techniques while serving as Medical Director at her previous practice in North Carolina. Additionally, she has used her surgical skills to travel to the Galapagos Islands, performing spay and neuter surgeries on the local pet population to help protect regional wildlife.
Outside of the workplace, Dr. Pott enjoys nearly any outdoor activity—including local festivals, kayaking, and grilling. She especially loves completing logic puzzles in the park, often kept company by her two young cats, Valkyrie and Odin, whom she rescued from a local shelter in the spring of 2026. When asked why she chose to relocate to Canada's capital, Dr. Pott notes:
“It’s artsy, it’s historic, it’s green, and if you look for it, there is always something going on! It’s the best move I’ve ever made.”
